Sonesta Emeryville - San Francisco Bay Bridge

Pros: Great location, comfortable bed, clean pool, small workout room. Cons / Warning: No bathroom exhaust fan. No internet. $25/night for unmonitored parking; I saw someone having a midnight meal while sitting behind my car and leaving a large pile of trash there that was still there in the morning. I let the front desk know upon check out to which they just shrugged. 20-minute wait for pool towels. I booked online and prepaid, and while the $9.99/night resort fee was listed on the site, I didn’t notice it because it said taxes and fees were included. I called hotel customer service after returning home to clarify the charge. The rep spoke aggressively, repeatedly interrupted me, and insisted I should “be fine with it” because resort fees are standard in Vegas—without asking if I’d ever been there or offering any apology. It also seems strange that the desk staff didn’t mention the fee at check-in or check-out. Privacy Issue: Most importantly, the customer service rep took my personal phone number and shared it with QuoteWizard.com without consent. Within hours, I started receiving multiple spam calls. Two weeks later, I am still struggling to remove my number. I’ve had this number for 20 years with almost no spam. This is a serious breach of trust—guests should know their personal info may not be protected. Overall: Some positives, but aggressive service, lack of disclosure, and unauthorized sharing of personal info make this stay hard to recommend.

The staff was amazing and for a one night stay as a solo guest it was great. Paying for parking is unfortunately standard in the area but with the good rate I got, it didn’t matter to me. Only downside was that my bathroom had clearly not been cleaned well; there was someone else’s hair all over the floor and in the bathtub when I checked in.

I was here for five weeks and restaurant and bar was exceptional. Annalie was amazing every time very convincing and really made you feel at home. The whole experience was amazing thank you team…

This was an interesting and unexpected 5 star review - the location is great for the business traveler with a few decent restaurants right next to the hotel and a small shopping area that was clean and safe to walk around. The hotel had clean comfortable and updated rooms, the bar/restaurant was very enjoyable - most notably the service from the bartender Annalie was exceptional. She was so friendly and helpful, I am here for work a lot and she greets me by name and my favorite cocktail anytime I show up.

Annalie is the best. A fantastic experience from the front desk to the room. Dropping Marriott, and the abysmal Bistro concept, made this a better hotel.

Stayed here with my wife for our 2year anniversary. The hotel was extremely clean and well-lit. Fun, kind and very informative staff and not once did we ever feel like a headache for walking up with questions. The ONLY things keeping this from being 5 stars was that i noticed fruit flies in the room. Usually isnt a good sign, especially as a food safety manager. And the bathroom (at least in our room) didnt have a fan? Taking a shower fogged up the entire room. Im sure this is discourage guests from smoking but at least introduce some better forms of ventilation.

Great proximity to UC Berkeley and food. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable but indo wish there was a microwave in the room and a better coffee maker. Regardless there is parking and a restaurant on site. The room was not cleaned daily (automatically) but I guess you have to request it. I'm not messy so it didn't bother me. It's a nice place.
